Learning Guide for Civics: Participating in a Democratic Society is designed to lead students through an examination of Canadian Government using the
Participating in a Democratic Society textbook. It includes:

reading guides that cover the material in the textbook’s chapters;

short quizzes to review the organizing concepts of each chapter;

projects that extend the ideas developed in the text; and
-
crossword puzzles that review the individuals and organizations that have influenced governments.
The Learning Guide can be used in a variety of settings, for example:

as guided reading assignments for the
Participating in a Democratic Society textbook;

in any classroom as “make up” assignments for students who experience extended absences;
-
in multi-grade classrooms where teachers must present several different social studies courses; and,
-
in classrooms where students require
self-paced study materials.
The Learning Guide for Civics: Participating in a Democratic Society is distributed in Microsoft Office format on
DVD which allows the purchaser to modify the Guide's components to suit their own unique circumstances. The crossword puzzles are in pdf format.
